Open die forging process consists of heating metal and shaping it by repetitive blows between the ram and the anvil whilst manipulating the metal by hand in order to achieve the desired shape and size.
Open die forging is an old manufacturing process often associated with simpler shaped parts, blanks, rings, spindles and bars, but it can be considered to be the best option in custom-designed metal components. Superior grain flow and refining of the steel’s internal structure optimise the mechanical properties resulting in high strength and long life.
Our highly skilled blacksmiths ensure that all products are made according to customer specification every time. Our capability is any forging up to 2 ton, limited to 1 meter in diameter.
Bensch provides hand forming, which allows customers to take advantage of low set up cost for those who need smaller quantities of products forged.
Bensch Forge improves manufacturing by providing reliable, just-in-time component forging solutions. We provide forged components including but not limited to the following:
Whilst our core business centres on the forging of specialist components, our many other processes and services have enabled us to offer much more.
When client projects demand a tailored approach we can offer just that. So, whilst offering an unbeatable combination of manufacturing, we provide a valuable single source of supply for our clients. Bensch Forge offers the following Value Added Services:
As a natural extension of any workshop, Bensch performs a number of general engineering services as part of it's regular operations.
Our quality control personnel are dedicated to ensure all products conform to customer specification, guided by a certified international quality management system.
Bensch provides computer aided draughting and component design using Solidworks® software to produce up-to-date drawings.
Our CNC machining department manufactures dies as well as adding further value to the components we forge by further refining components as needed.
Bensch ensures products arrive where they are needed and in a fit-for-purpose condition because we package components carefully to avoid damage in transit.
Bensch sinks and refurbishes its own dies using its complement of sophisticated cnc machinery.
